She's prettyyyyyy. This is Atelier Momoni's dozing Lusis. Makes me want to open up Brita's eyes a little bit more. I've opened her eyes up just slightly since I've had her but you still can't tell what color eyes she has in. Maybe I'll do that tonight or tomorrow.

I love my Unoas :3 maybe one of these days, I'll be able to afford another body (minus the chest plate) for Brita. She needs to be repainted, too. She's been faceless since July or August.

Meanwhile, here's a picture of Sabrina being gorgeous that I took last week.

It feels good to buy doll stuff again! I just bought this cool stuff on eBay for my SD boys.

Obviously I've been MIA for a loooong time. Since I last posted in September, my life has done a complete 180. Now I've got an amazing boyfriend, I moved into a new apartment last month with one of my best friends, and I'm starting a new full-time nanny job later this month. I've transferred to community college for the Spring quarter so I've had a really great 3-month break from school and I start classes again in March. I'm taking Intermediate Photography and 2 online psychology classes.

Sabrina and Riley are at the new apartment with me. (And so is Damien. His head is in the carrying bag lol) Here they are checking out the aftermath of the Blizzard of '11 that's been kicking Nebraska's ass since Monday.

I haven't really been in the mood to play with my dolls at all the last few months, but I think now that I have a new job I'll feel better about buying new clothes for them that won't be embarrassing to photograph XD I need to renew my Flickr Pro account as soon as I get money again.

What is it with me and only blogging when it is absolutely the last thing in the world I need to be doing?

I have an art project I need to be thinking about, but I have absolutely no good ideas. The class it's for is stupid, anyway, and I spend the entire 3 hour period messing around with my friends. And I failed my first physics test yesterday because it's boring and I don't pay attention in class. And I got a parking ticket last week. What's wrong with me??

Ugh, work is going to be so lame tonight. I've been working at a frozen yogurt shop for the last 6 months and I love it, but I don't really get many hours. Now that fall and winter are coming it's only going to be less :( Today is cold and rainy so I won't have much to do all night.

I really just want to go home and paint my dolls or take pictures. I'm at my dad's house without a camera and all of my BJD and painting stuff is at my mom's. Boooo. I'm 20 years old now and I want to move out so I can keep all my crap in one place. XD The problem is I will never be able to afford it. Pfffffffffft.

Today sucked. I'm so bored (obviously) and I haven't done anything except be on the computer thinking about all the stuff I want to do but don't have time to start because I have to go to work tonight. I have tomorrow off but I REALLY should get started on that project. Ugh. that means I'll probably spend all day doing nothing and thinking, "I really should start that project..." but then not actually doing it. I hate college art classes with their stupid prompts and deadlines and annoyingness.

I'm a photography major, I don't see why I have to take all these stupid irrelevant classes. I've only been able to take ONE beginning photography class and that's what I did this summer. The worst part is that it wasn't digital, so I had to use an SLR camera that was older than I am and print everything in the darkroom which SUCKED. I did learn a lot about the basics of photography that helped me with my DSLR, though. I'll get to take some digital photography classes in the spring but I'll still need to take more old-school photography in addition to those...even the people in the camera store felt bad for me every time I came in to buy (hundreds of dollars worth of) film and paper. They'd say, "You poor photography students are pretty much the only ones who still do film photography."

I really want this week to be over so I can go to Kansas City this weekend and hang out with my friend Sarah. We're going to the new American Girl store and I'm going to try not to buy out the entire place XD they don't make stuff for Kirsten and Samantha dolls anymore since they're retired, but I definitely have to get a birthday present for the little girl I nanny for. I gotta get her brother something too, since his birthday is the weekend I'm gone, but obviously I'll have to get his gift somewhere that's not for girls haha.

When I visited American Girl Place in Chicago over my spring break, it was AWESOME. They had a little doll hair salon and all the coolest stuff you could possibly imagine. OMG. I want to work there. Seriously, I'd photograph dolls for the catalogue or dress dolls for display or do their hair, whatever. I bought an absolutely absurd amount of stuff, and then I had to carry it all over town for the rest of the day XD I didn't give a damn, though. It was my birthday! (AKA St. Patrick's Day)

Yeah. I splurged (again) and bought myself my only article of designer clothing, too - that green strapless dress is from French Connection (FCUK) and it is gorgeous. It barely fits me, though XD That's another thing I've been doing, too - exercising my ass off! Over the summer, I tore my Achilles tendon while running and had to spend a month in a cast and two months not exercising, which was awful. Now that it's all better, I've been hitting the gym almost every day and trying lots of weight training, which I've never done much of. I take Body Pump classes every week which kill but my arms and legs are more buff than they've ever been!

So yeah. I think it's time for me to get back into my dolls again. I miss them! Whenever I browse eBay and see how much money all this crap is worth, it reminds me that this stuff isn't for decoration and that I need to continue getting my money's worth out of it all. This hobby really has helped me grow a lot artistically. I'm so much better at photography, painting, and faceups than I ever have been. I think more carefully about color schemes, fashion, and modeling. Without my dolls, I would have never developed an interest in photography and I would have no idea what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. Even now that I'm almost done with college, I'm not completely sure what I want to do, I just know I want something related to photography. My own studio would be killer, but we'll see.

Well, it's about time to go to work now. Boo. D:

Hahahaha. I know I haven't blogged since January, but that doesn't mean I'm done with dolls forever. I've been shopping. Which means I'm going to be doing some serious playing very soon! I bought these blue stripper heels for my Unoa, a pair of sneakers for my MSD and 2 shirts for them to share, all from Releaserain on eBay.

Aaaand on a whim I started skimming Sailor Moon listings again (always a horrible idea) and I bid on this goofy looking German Sailor Mercury doll by Igel. Mercury is the only European doll I don't have, so it would be interesting to have one in my collection.

Oh man my laptop battery is dying D: But the new Blogger layouts are really pretty! I'm excited to resume my sporadic blogging that like 2 people read haha.

I GOT A NEW CAMERA TODAY :D :D :D

And I am also currently testing the blog feature from my Flickr page. Naturally, I am going bonkers with the new camera (it focuses like a dream. The big live view display is wonderful with my bad eyesight) so I made lots of Flickr uploads today.

I gave my Unoss a faceup yesterday. It's SO different. It looks like she washed her face and didn't put any makeup on except mascara and lip gloss (like me). I put her eyelashes in differently, too. I kind of like it now that she doesn't look like a drag queen... XD I'll take proper pictures tomorrow.

Nebraska is currently having its third blizzard in the last six weeks. The temperature hasn't been above 15 for at least a week now. It's supposed to get down to -20 degrees tomorrow so I haven't gone anywhere and likely won't anytime soon.

BUT! I did give Sabrina and Ambrose new faceups like I wanted. I'm so in love with how they turned out! So clean and sharp. Bri's coloring is more reddish than pale pink this time, but I actually kind of like it. It's different... I don't know if her eyebrows are thick enough for me, though. I might have to fix those.

Aaaaand since I'm working on updating profile pictures, I got some nice ones of Jakob because he is cute and tons of Mika because I lovelovelove her.

Now that I have the profile pictures out of the way, I want to start taking pictures that are actually interesting XD I'm going to put together pictures of BJD in interesting poses and work on doing similar things with my dolls.

Okay, so I admit that I spent today sleeping in, being utterly worthless, working out, and watching The Office. But somehow, I managed to find time for a photoshoot with Mika and the boys.

It wasn't really much. I mostly just wanted to get some new profile pics for them. None of Jakob's pictures turned out and I need to clear space near one of my pink walls to photograph Mika on. But I did end up with a few great shots of Riley, Mikey, and Ambrose.

Have I mentioned lately how much I love my Riley?

...No, I haven't, because I SUCK at blogging. But even though I haven't turned him into a camera whore (yet), I am still just as enthralled with him as I always have been. Today he got a slightly lighter look than his previous one. He stole Mikey's wig and made him go back to blonde.

I know this is a REALLY boring picture...I want to get him some new eyes, like hot pink or deep magenta. Natalie's Michael looked sooo gorgeous in those hot pink Antique Rose eyes last time she posted pictures of him (lol) so now I'm on the lookout for some to put in my little guy. He has lots of spunk and personality and it's really a shame that I haven't shown him off more.

I sort of dislike Ambrose's faceup. I like his eyes and eyebrows, but the overall color scheme is too yellow for me. I think a new faceup is in order.

I took these pictures yesterday of two of my biggest camera hogs. They DID need new profile pics since they both have new faceups, so I think these show them off nicely.

I know one thing for sure that I need to work on is getting more creative with posing my dolls. God, these are all so boring XD I should poke around DOA and look for some ideas.

I AM OFFICIALLY PRO ON FLICKR :D

Yeah, I coughed up the stupid $25 for a Pro account because I was about 20 pics away from reaching my free account limit. I gotta say, though, I'm enjoying all the perks. I love being able to edit my photos on the website. Since my laptop is broken, all the colors in my pics look WAY different on my mom's monitor. Mine are soooo yellow =__= But this way I can fix them up and hopefully nobody will think I suck at photography XD

So it's 2010, and as usual I have a list of goals that I will try to keep all year...or at least through March. They are:

-Lose 12 pounds. Yes, 12. Not 10. Not 15. 12. Do this by exercising ever day on the new Treadmill that Santa brought me.
-Participate in the 365 project on Flickr and don't give up before the first month this time. I will at least TAKE pictures of stuff every day, even if I don't get around to uploading them.
-Show more attention to neglected dolls. This includes basically ALL of my BJD whose names aren't Sabrina, Brigitte, or Chase.
-Get a new job

That's about it for now. I realized that I have some dolls who have 1 picture in each of their new Flickr sets and some who don't have any at all, like Mika and Jakob. That means they are going to need lots of extra camera love this year.

Soooo...my short-term goal is to get more pictures of:

And I eventually want to replace all my dolls' profile pictures. It's annoying, sure, but it pushes me to take better photos. I got this nifty lighting unit for Christmas that makes taking doll photos a MILLION times easier, so I will get some good practice with that.

Have I ever mentioned my lifelong affinity for American Girl dolls?

Since I was 7 years old, my Kirsten doll (left) was my prized possession. As I've grown up, I've been taking her off the shelf and changing her outfits every now and then, but recently I decided to organize all her stuff and fix her up a little. And on a whim, I went on eBay and got her a friend :3

Meet Samantha! (lolz)

I have ALWAYS wanted her. ALWAYS. She is sooo pretty and she has all these gorgeous Victorian outfits and accessories...plus she has the best name ever. Anyway, in my quest to find a Samantha of my own, I learned that she and Kirsten (plus all the other AGs that I grew up with) are now being retired. PFFFT. Of course, now that means the dolls are going for $200+ on Ebay unless you want to get one bald, naked, and badly abused by some obnoxious toddler.

But that's basically what I did. I got my Samantha nekkid for $50 and with really screwed-up hair. Plus she was FILTHY and had tons of weird gunk in her mouth...eeuuugh. These are her "before" pictures.

When I knew she would need some work, I decided to fix up my Kirsten a bit, too. So they both got their arms and legs washed (my Mr. Clean Magic Eraser was DISGUSTING when I was done with them XD), their hair washed and deep-conditioned with fabric softener, and I added blush to their cheeks and gloss to their lips.

That last picture shows the crap that was in Samantha's mouth. WTF? I mean, I know these dolls are meant for children, but why on earth would you let your kid do so much damage to a $100 doll? Even after the conditioning, Samantha's hair is still in crappy shape. It's still very dry and has frizzy little split ends everywhere. Still, she looks a MILLION times better, though. By contrast, Kirsten has been well taken-care of in the last 12 years, so her hair was even silkier and lovelier than before :3

Yes, I trimmed Kirsten's hair so it's even on both sides, haha. Anyway, here's the "after" pictures of Samantha. I LOVE how she turned out.

In other news, my laptop is broke and my mom is kicking me off her computer now, so I will have to update about my new lighting unit and BJD stuff later. I hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year!

As promised, I have pictures of Riley as well as the other BJD who have gotten new faceups within the last month. I've been really sick the last two days - being awake for more then 3 hours makes me exhausted, so I only have a few.

So, on the makeover list we have Cassia, Riley, Sabrina, and Brigitte. Cassia's is almost exactly like her original faceup from Volks. I've always adored that face, but she is 4 years old now and parts of it were getting faded and scratched off. I was careful to leave her eyebrows intact when wiping off the old faceup since there's no way I'd be able to get them right. Once she was coated, I blushed her up nice 'n' bright :3 very sweet.

Sabrina's is overall light pink with silver shimmers on her eyes and lips. It looks nice for winter. There's a small scratch on her forehead, though =__= thank god it doesn't show up in pictures, but I Photoshopped it out anyway.

My SD13 body is here!! I picked it up from the post office the day before Thanksgiving. I have been obscenely busy since then - I worked 34 hours between Friday and Sunday =__= I am sore and exhausted. I have a research paper to write and several other school projects I have to work on this week, but that hasn't stopped me from enjoying my now-complete Shiro Tachibana, who I will call Riley.

This is my first SD13. And my goodness, he is a BEAST. He's tall, maybe a little taller than my Luts boys. I'm not sure. But they're so skinny. SD13 has much more meat on his bones. He stands beautifully on his own. (This is a SD13 Williams body, so it's pretty new.)

I got him from Cifr on Den of Angels. She was such a sweetheart. She sent him to me half-strung to save on shipping, but I was expecting him to be totally in pieces like when I bought my SD girl body. Nope! Cifr strung his legs and lower torso together in one piece, then his chest and arms in another. All I had to do was pull the elastic up through his chest and he was done!

Cifr sent some little gifts with him, too. She sent me 2 nice little brown pencils, and the cute little cupcake in the pictures :) I love it!

Riley's faceup in these pictures SUCKS. He got a new one the night he got his body. He looks much better now. Plus, I finally got my order of Ajumapama clothes this weekend, too, so he's got a cool new shirt. I will try to take pictures tonight or tomorrow.

Since I've never worked up the creativity to write up really descriptive bios for all of my BJD, today I just sat down and thought about their likes and dislikes. Maybe eventually, this will help me write a little more detail about who they are, but for now, this will do.

My Mr. Super Clear crisis has been solved, thanks to Emory at Junky Spot. I usually get my MSC from Junky Spot, but they didn't have any listed on their website when I checked. I sent them an email, and Emory told me he still had some MSC flat and offered me a good deal on a 3-pack. Yay! :D Poor Brigitte was in the middle of her faceup when I ran out, so my table is a mess of craft supplies until I get the MSC and finish her.

Chase and Erica are currently wearing their default outfits for Halloween. I WILL get pictures tomorrow, I promise. They look super cute :)

Speaking of Erica, I'm thinking of changing her name. Mostly for arbitrary reasons - it just doesn't seem to suit her that well. I would still like for her new name to end in an "a" so there's some alliteration with her sisters Brita and Sabrina, but I've got a few other ideas, too:

Tiffany found this meme and posted it on her LJ and I think it's interesting so I'm going to do it, too. I'm not a yaoi fan, although queer rights/issues are very important to me. Like Tiffany said, yaoi is too unrealistic for my tastes. (But I must say, it IS kind of refreshing to see yaoi fangirls FREAKING OUT over the sight of two boys kissing, as annoying as they may be. I get so sick of guys thinking lesbians = porno.)

Ambrose: Gaaaaaaaaaay. No partner at this time. Ambrose is very effeminate, but in more of a rock 'n' roll-emo-dude kind of way. Like the guys from Tokio Hotel, but actually out of the closet.
Mikey: Heterosexual. He's 14, too young to question it yet.
Jakob: Bisexual. Not exactly open about it.
Shiro: Heterosexual. Has the hots for Erica.
Damien: Open bisexual.

The little girls don't really apply here, but Erica and Samara are bisexual. Mika and Brigitte are heterosexual.

You know, Ambrose is the only one of my dolls who has been more than a blip on my (excellent) gaydar - for as long as I've had him, his character has been gay in my mind. With all the rest, I really had to think about it. I decided that Samara and Erica were bisexual because they seem like the kind of mature young women who are open to their options and have chosen to live as they want, as opposed to living according to social expectation.

Jakob and Damien are both quiet guys, although Damien is more in-your-face when it comes to certain things like sexuality. He's in a band... and rockstars like to do what feels good. Jakob has never given off a very heterosexual vibe to me, but I can see his character being interested in guys without really going for it like Damien does.

And Lilli... I have no idea 0.0

As far as my dollfies go, Dylan, my Volks N boy is your typical, skinny, fashionable gay dude. (Think Christian Siriano from Project Runway) My Placebo dolls basically run the sexual spectrum - Stefan is gay, Brian is bisexual, and Steve is heterosexual.

As for the girls, Sanmi and Lady Gaga are also bisexual. The real Lady Gaga has said that she considers herself bisexual, although her attraction to women is "purely physical" and she prefers men. As a bisexual myself, this saddens me a little. Really, who doesn't find women physically attractive? It's a bit of a cop-out in my eyes - either you're bisexual or you aren't. (You aren't, Katy Perry.) I wholeheartedly support sexual exploration, but given the stigma surrounding lesbians and bisexual women, I don't think it's necessarily fair to make out with girls for fun if you're not actually into them. That kind of behavior only perpetuates stereotypes like "bi women are just sluts, lesbians aren't real - they just haven't had sex with the right man, it's just a phase, blahblahblah."

So yeah, that meme stirred up some interesting thoughts in the ol' noggin for me.

I was dressing Samara the other day and I noticed that she couldn't stand up anymore. I don't think she's been restrung since 2006, so today I decided to pull her and Erica apart so they could get baths and tighten up their elastic.

Now they are all clean and lovely again. They will dry off while I go to work and when I get home, I'll coat them and give them french mani/pedicures before I restring them.

Since Sabrina is the subject of my latest school art project, I had a photoshoot with her yesterday. I haven't had a real one with her since like... April 2008. T_T Anyway, the idea for all of my art class is that each project must have one of the elements of art dominant. (Line, form, shape, texture, value, color) This is the color project. I bought the giant lolly for Bri since it matched her new shirt and had a blast.

I'm going to print off 2-3 of these photos and mat them all fancylike with some photos I took of just the lollipop.

I haven't given a single thought to Volks' Dollfie Dream since they first came out. I really liked Candy, the very first girl released.

On a whim tonight I checked out news at Den of Angels and saw Volks' new Natsuki.

She's SO CUTE. I love her clothes and her face and her hair and everything about her... and I've never had a doll like her before. Should I???

I'm also really, REALLY liking this new Dollfie Dream DY-NO-MIIITE body XD So big and curvy and pretty!

Natalie's encouragement on my last post got me in the mood to finish taking profile pictures of my dollfies. This time I actually put forth a little effort; used my tripod, lamps and everything. And they turned out lovely! I got fabulous profile pictures of all the girls, which will be on the dollfie page as soon as I'm done with this.

It's late and I want to go to bed but I felt like posting something. I've been working on changing the layout of my blog and updating the profile pages for my BJD and Dollfie. I have such a hard time taking profile pics of everyone because I end up hating them and don't want them on the page T_T so now Caroline and Georgia are the only ones with pictures on the Dollfie page.

Caroline finally has a body! She's so cute, I need to get more pictures of her. She's got the same body as Georgia.

I finished painting Stefan tonight! He's getting his hair done tomorrow. He still needs a five o'clock shadow but I've never done facial hair on a doll before so I don't know how to go about it.

And here is a snapshot of Lady Gaga's new outfit. She's sitting on my desk with my other popstar dolls (that I didn't make), Baby Spice and Hannah Montana. XD The weird lollipop thing came with the jacket and top she's wearing. The actual Lady Gaga likes to wear clothes with some truly weird shit on them, so the random addition of lollipops seemed fitting to her. I'm still not loving my doll's hair, though. I think I'm gonna cut it short like you see in some of the pics I linked to.

Just for funsies, I'm making a post of clothes I plan to buy for the Placebo dolls. Yay! Earlier this week I bought quite a few items from HLJ, mostly for my Brian doll. He got a dress shirt and jeans. I got Steve some cargo shorts, and Stef got a long-sleeved black and blue tee, but I found one at Volks that I like much better.

This whole outfit would be perfect for Stefan. It's from Volks' WTG Selfish line, which is probably still too big for Obitsu but I'd be happy if even just the jeans and jacket fit. This is exactly the style I'm looking for.

Aaaand Brian needs a suit jacket like this or a vest.

And Steve just needs a simple black tank top or t-shirt.

They will be looking like real rock stars once I can afford to buy all this =_= My BJD need (yes, need) these outfits from Cheery Doll USA, too.

I want this white sweater and black ballerina skirt. The skirt would also go great with this pink ruffly top.

And I want this whole outfit: black coulottes and the "beige" shirt. It looks grey to me in the photo but whateverrr.

Every time I come to Blogger and I get ready to post a new entry, I get distracted and can't think of anything to post about. Booo. Nobody reads this dumb thing anymore so I guess it doesn't matter.

Despite how things here may look, I HAVE been working on doll stuff lately. As far as the Dollfies go, Lady Gaga got a new faceup since I just wasn't happy with the last one. And Brian got new lips. I finished rooting and painted Stefan, too, but I don't know if I like it yet. Still working on rooting Steve's hair.

And I'm happy to say that the ridiculous Momoko shirt and sparkly Barbie jeans will soon be done with- I finally bought the Placebo dolls some clothes. They're Azone guy clothes, which I've never bought so I hope they fit. When I bought Gaga's body from Volks, I bought a guys' WTG shirt for Stefan but it was HUGE. So huge that I put it on Sabrina and it fits like a dream. Pictures of her will soon follow - she will be the subject of my next art class project. I even took off her hands yesterday to give her a new manicure and redo her blushing.

I bought the BJDs some clothes from Ajumapama, too. I've spent a really stupid amount of money on doll clothes, but oh well. I'm sick of not wanting to take pictures of my BJD because I'm sick of all their crappy clothes. I got a black shirt for the boys, a cute yellow tank for the girls, and some grey skinny jeans for whoever looks best in them.

Brian Molko and Lady Gaga are finiiiished!

Sorry I've been so crappy at blogging lately, but I am well on my way to finishing Placebo and my Lady Gaga dollfies. I finished Brian first. I think he turned out super cute but I don't really like his mouth. It looks okay in person but for some reason he looks really dumb in pictures T_T so I think as soon as I'm done posting this, I'm going to wipe his mouth off and start over.

He needs some clothes. I feel bad making him wear that stupid Momoko shirt and my Barbie's sparkly pants. I need to find him some tight jeans and a black t-shirt, or a white button-down with a vest.

Lady Gaga turned out GREAT, though :D Her face isn't exactly a dead-on likeness, but I think she's really pretty. If anything, her mouth needs to be reworked, too.

As far as the other dolls go, Stefan is finished being rooted. He just needs his faceup and a haircut. Steve's head is about 1/3 of the way rooted.

Boo. I want to get the heads and bodies for my Placebo boys naaaaaaaaaaaooo. I got their hair from Restore Doll last week and decided to try some of their new Nylon hair. I got 2 different shades of ash blonde and it's COMPLETELY the wrong colors, so I just said "screw it" and I went and bought some Katsilk platinum blonde for Steve and Lady Gaga. I figure I can mix some of them together so it won't go to waste.

The first one is too...mustard-y. I needed something lighter and more of a buttery blonde, I guess. That one was for Steve. The second one was for Lady Gaga and it is WAY too dark. Pffft. Oh well, it will mix nicely with the Platinum. I can't stand one-toned hair, so I always have to have at least 2 colors.

I bought Gaga's head at Junky Spot a few days ago and I also bought another Obitsu girl body for Caroline. I wanted to get 2 bodies and give the other to Sanmi but it would have been too expensive. :( Her Azone body suuuucks.

In the meantime while I wait for these heads to get here, I've been sketching a lot and figuring out how I want all my new dolls' eyes to look...

There we go. Mika hasn't had her picture taken since the last post I made about her =_= I finally got some new S-hooks last week so her head is back on now and she is complete! I think I messed up when stringing her legs, though. They seem to stand funny and she can't sit up at ALL. She always wants to fall backwards. Booo.

The past few weeks, my mom and I have been remodeling my basement. Now I am reporting to you from my beautiful new desk and surrounded by walls that are the color of cotton candy and mint ice cream :3

Now that the walls can serve as a proper colorful background for doll photos, I've started taking new profile pics of my 1/6 Dollfies. Those can be seen up in here.

And I even have my own table now for painting and faceups, so I no longer have to crowd the kitchen table. XD Life is good.

He plays guitar and sings for UK rock band, Placebo. He has no head at the moment, but when he does, he will hopefully look something like this:

I have an Obitsu skin head on order for him and soon I'm going to place a GIANT order at Restore Doll and buy hair for him and all the other Dollfies I'm planning for! :D

Somehow, I'm jut bursting with inspiration lately, so I decided to make dolls of Placebo. I was cleaning out the Rubbermaid drawers where I keep all my doll supplies and I came across an Obitsu Slim guy body that I bought WAAYYY back in 2004 or 2005. Originally, I meant to give it to Dylan since I thought his Excellent N body was way too scrawny, but once I saw the Obitsu Slim in person, I thought it was too beefy for Dylan.

Anyway, I found my Obitsu body and thought it would be perfect for the Placebo guys and I hopped on eBay and bought 2 more from Mimiwoo, along with heads for all 3 of them.

The rest of Placebo includes Stefan and Steve. Stefan is the tallest of the 3, so I think I'll use the Obitsu leg extenders on him. And yes, and AM going to try and paint all of Steve's tattoos. XD These two are also getting Restore Doll hair.

The only thing they don't have is clothes. I need jeans, a white dress shirt and black/grey vest for Brian, a t-shirt and jacket for Stef (or a tank top and sparkly scarf), and a black tank top and cargo shorts for Steve. And they need shoes. Black shoes. I have NO idea where to find nice-looking clothes that fit Obitsu boys, so I guess I'll just have to keep an eye out.

I'm also going to be making a doll of super hottie singer Lady Gaga. I'm going to base her hair and faceup after her style in the video for Love Game, with the layered white-blonde hair with lavender streaks and lavender-hued makeup. I plan on buying her a Volks Elegant tan body and a tan skin head from Obitsu.

I even dug through all my old Barbie stuff last night looking for stuff for her to wear. I had some colorful tights and weird costumes, but nothing that seemed perfect for her. I did find some black sunglasses for me to put sparkles on and I WILL figure out a way to make her a disco stick.

Oh crap, I'm starting to slack off with my blogging again.

Well, I've been at work just about every day and getting ready to start my second year of college. I have about 2 weeks of summer left ;___; Boooo. I'm sad, but suddenly have a lot going on.

Thursday I am leaving on a weekend trip to Kansas City. Hella scared to be driving by myself since I've never done it before, but I'm studying Google maps like crazy. XD I definitely need to get Natalie's SD heads sent back to her before I go, though.

I finished with her Michael today. I did his faceup a few weeks ago but he still needed some sparkles around his eyes and his eyelashes put back in. He looks real cute and I will take pictures of all 3 of Nat's dolls tomorrow after work :3

Her seller was kind enough to include those brown Zoukeimura eyes that Samara is currently enjoying. It was really sweet of her since she lowered the price for me since I was going to buy her without the eyes but she decided to just let me keep them and they are beautiful.

I've just finished Mika's new face and her eyelash glue is drying. I'm sad that I don't have a body to put her on yet :( It's scheduled to be delivered on Wednesday.

"Now if BJDs are considered as art, shouldn't they be respected as such? They are made with skill and if it is to be modified or changed in any way, shouldn't the person making the changes be just as skilled and provide the sort of results that would come from the company that made them?

If someone is not skilled enough and a doll ends up looking a mess due to these lack of skills, do you think that these dolls should have never been tampered with?

What about the companies that these dolls come from? [...] Most companies are very particular about making their dolls absolutely beautiful and flawless when they arrive for the customer. If a doll of theirs is modded to the point where it looks like an unskilled craft, is it right to associate this doll with the original company anymore? Like the face-up artist mentioned, perhaps they are bothered by this and don't want to have the company name associated by bad alterations."

I didn't post on the thread itself since I usually find that debate threads are 90% of posters in agreement with each other while the other 10% say something controversial and then two or three people get into a fight about it.

But anyway, my thoughts on the subject are like most others: that since this hobby is about customization, everybody has to start somewhere. It's definitely true that doll companies create dolls to be beautiful in one artist's mind, but not all owners want the exact same doll. That's why we give them new faceups and sometimes even change their sculpt.

Granted, you really SHOULD know what you're doing when it comes to major sculpt modifications. I thought I knew what I was getting into with my Unoss Aika, but honestly, I had no idea. I still regret sanding her face down to this very day, although I am grateful for all the practice I've had learning to work with her since then. She's absolutely gorgeous now and I wouldn't have her any other way ♥ (except with tear ducts.)

Admittedly, I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to my own dolls. I think they're so pretty :3 As their owner, I think I should love the way they look, especially when they are customized by me. There are dolls that I've seen and think, "Oh geez, that's unfortunate..." but that's all just a matter of my own tastes.

I'm no expert on faceups, considering I used to let Ambrose run around looking like this. XD And that's not even the worst of my past faceups. That photo was from 2006, but I've had dolls since 2004. Ambrose was my first faceup practice doll and he has some truly embarrassing photos on my old hard drive. XD

I need to get off my butt and go to the gym, but for some reason, my legs are really sore today so I'm not in the mood to run. Maybe I'll just go for a walk outside instead.

I really want this pink Pipos Rooney, but I just spent about that much money on a new SD body. Plus, it looks like he's already on hold for someone else. Oh well.

Natalie's dolls, Part 2!

I have 2 of Natalie's 3 heads finished! I started with the girls since I had a better idea of how to do their faceups. I love love love how they turned out and Nat likes them too, which makes me even more happy :3

Before and Afters:

For Mika, Nat wanted a sweet and natural faceup, so I gave her a simple peachy-pink pallet.

For Aika, Natalie asked for something similar to one of Sabrina's last faceups with pink lips and caramel eyeshadow. Aika is one of Natalie's oldest dolls (the one that made me want my Aika, in fact ♥) and she's always had a gothic look in the past. This look is really different for Aika but I'm proud of it.

And DAMN, is it nice to paint a Unoss who still has tear ducts! XD

Aside from Aika's faceup, I spent a better part of this afternoon driving all over town looking for a shipping box big enough to ship that damn Aya body. I found one at the UPS store and ended up trimming it down by about 6 inches. She's off to England after 5 years with me (and $57 to ship =__=). I hope her new owner loves her as much as I did. That body was my very first BJD and will always have some sentimental value to me, regardless of how much I think the posing sucks. XD

Supposedly, Brigitte and Mika's new pureskin body has shipped and so has Mika's head, although I don't have tracking numbers for either one yet.
But I can't wait. I'm gonna have a freaking hayday when all that stuff comes!

Yaaay! Even with shipping, I paid like... half of what it's worth. Awesome. :) And my SD Aya body is still for sale on Den of Angels. Someone sent me a PM yesterday asking questions and stuff but they haven't gotten back to me yet. I REALLY want to get it sold since it will basically pay off the new body.

Mika's default outfit just came in the mail! Dang, that was fast :3 it's so cute! I can't wait for Mika to wear it.

Speaking of Mika, I haven't heard from the person I'm buying her head from since Saturday. She was supposed to find out how much shipping cost and let me know so I can send her the rest of what I owe. 0.0 Someone is selling a Pureskin SD girl body on eBay for cheap. The auction ends tomorrow so I bid because it's just too good to pass up!

That being said, my SD Aya body is up for sale on DOA. I want Brigitte and Mika to have a nice, new body. Actually, I won't mind too much if the Aya body doesn't sell, that way they can both have a body.

Natalie's Mika is on faceup 1.5 right now XD I tried to change her lip color yesterday but that sort of jacked up her blushing, so I'm going to try again tomorrow.

These are the Before pictures of all their little noggins :)I was expecting her to send her Unoss Aika and Michael, but MSD Mika was a nice little surprise! I'm excited to paint her since I have never seen a "real" MSD Mika before.

Note to self: Next time, shoot dolls with the 50mm lens and avoid the crippling depression that came with struggling to use the other one. I HATE ARTIFICIAL LIGHT.

Bri's new faceup is fantastic. But it's 11 o'clock at night and my only source of light for photos is the crappy lamp in my living room and it's put a disgusting yellow cast over these photos =__=

Bri's lips are PINK, I swear, not red. I will try to take some better pictures tomorrow, but for some reason I just keep having bad luck. I really don't know how to take good doll pictures with my DSLR :(

This post isn't really important, either. Not much had been going on lately doll-wise, since I'm at work all the time to pay for Mika. I get paid again July 5th and I will be able to make the final payment on her then :D I can't waaait!

I repainted Sabrina again yesterday. Her eyebrows bugged me. I tried to use the same peachy/lime color scheme on her again but make her eyebrows more like her last faceup. It turned out pretty nice. I'll take pictures later.

I'm thinking of selling my SD Aya body. It's oldskin, but in really good condition, and I can wash/coat it before putting it up for sale. I probably can't get much money for it since it's so old, but I would think I could get at least $250, which would cover about half of a new pureskin body for Brigitte and Mika.

Maybe in a few weeks when my bank account has recovered from purchasing Mika, I'll put a feelers post up on DOA. I'm eager for tomorrow, which is payday. I'm going to make another big deposit for Mika :D

It's really nicely done, but not at all how I imagined my Mika would ever look. I love Volks' pictures of Mika, although no Mika I've ever seen has looked exactly like the Volks stock photos. I plan on trying to repaint her in a similar way.

THIS PICTURE IS SO HUGE.
But hey, I like Erica's new faceup! I wanted to get familiar with the Unoss face again for when Nat's Aika gets here. It's been about a year and a half since my Erica had her last faceup, and while I LOVED that look, she needed to be cleaned up.

Damn, she's hard to photograph. The first two pictures of her in the pink top (that I made. Hella.) were taken in my room, at night, using my desk lamp. The other two where she looks super white were taken during the day using natural light from my window. Natural light washes her out and artificial light makes her yellow. Booo.

Oh well, she looks really beautiful. Her eyeshadow and lips have sparkles :D

I also took some pictures of my Lishe, Samara, just for funsies. Hers is probably my favorite faceup that I've done. :3

And last but not least is my Magical Michael! I did not do this faceup, unfortunately. K. Mayura did, but I'm glad I have him around because I look at his face for inspiration on my own faceups. Mikey hasn't had his picture taken since 2007 so a few nice shots of him with the new camera were long overdue.

Someday soon I'm gonna buy a bunch of wigs from JPop Dolls. I'm just gonna go crazy and not feel bad about it. They are by FAR my favorite wigs. I absolutely love the ones I have, so naturally, I need more!!

I want this one for Brigitte. She looks great with curls and I like her has a brunette, too, so this is perfect.

Erica (Aika. It's funny now that this Erica reads my blog... XD) looks good in any color. She looks amazing in Samara's blonde Kana wig, but that strictly belongs to Samara. It is literally the perfect wig for her. So, Erica needs this one of her own in many delicious tones of brown. But since she makes a good blonde, she also needs this similar Jojo wig that is blonde with some edgy brown at the tips.

Now, my new Mika head definitely needs a long, layered wig in light brown or blonde. Her default wig is pretty, but it's probably going to be hard to find, expensive, and I've heard that it's too big for her head. (And I've heard that her head is huge.) So I could either get her a Kana wig, or I could splurge and get her this beautiful piece of work from Cotin Doll. I don't have any Cotin wigs, so I kind of want to try them out.

Angel Lily arrived today!!

She's actually a Tomy doll, not a bootleg. Is it weird that I'm actually disappointed? XD She was a little dirty and her dress is stained, which is weird since she was fastened into her box as if it had never been opened. I cleaned her off, but her dress might need to be washed.

Look closely at the last picture. It took me a minute to realize why she couldn't seem to stand up straight for photos. I took her shoes off and the answer became obvious =___= Really, Tomy? Come on!

All that aside, I do like her. And I'm glad my Wedding Peach collection is complete.

Today my mom and I are having a garage sale. I've been sitting in my pajamas in my garage since 8AM XD I did go inside to take a few pictures of the new things I got and I also made this:

It's a cool banner for my DOA signature. I see the trend of those little pixel icons has passed, so I had to get with the times. I will have to make it bigger once Mika comes home :3

There's miss Daisy looking like a southern belle in her new wedding gown and boots. What a CUTE outfit set. It came with the dress, veil, and a pair of white high-heeled shoes. The shoes don't fit on my Daisy, though. Maybe it's because she's a bootleg, but they just slide right off her feet. I should try them on my Tomy Peach and see if they would stay on if she weren't a knockoff. XD

The last picture is of Angel Daisy with Cyber Tricks Maya. Together, they are a blinding vision in buttercup yellow on my dresser.

Next up, Tristessa got a new dress as well. A friend of my mom's had given us a bunch of her daughter's old things for the garage sale today, and one of her Barbies had this sea foam green dress on. It's right up my alley so I stole it and gave it to Tris XD She looks fabulous in it!

Um, yeah. Poor Lily (CP Juri) has had a blank face for almost a year now. I tried to finish her last night, and I guess it's decent, but I still think it sucks. She's had to deal with more than one of my crappy faceups, too... she's so hard for me to paint for some reason. I think it's because she has tiny, worthless eyelids =__=

Bah! I'll just have to try again, I guess. I need to practice for when Natalie's dolls get here!

My eye sales on DOA have been going really well. I've sold 3 of the 5 pairs I had. Now if only someone would just buy my manga.

Ambrose got his faceup last night, and I'm posting about it in an attempt to convince Natalie to send me her Aika for a makeover!! >:3 >:3 >:3

This poor dude's had the same cute-but-boring face for the last 2 and a half years. He's always been the glamorous type, so I gave him some heavy eyeliner and more expressive eyebrows. The only thing I really tried to keep the same was his lips. I LOVE those pale peachy lips with the painted mouth line. Reminds me of my favorite Elf Shiwoo (besides my own ♥), which is Jujube's Adriga.

Last but not least, Natalie, here's a picture of my Aika! :3 This is kind of an old photo (December/January-ish) but this is her current faceup. I will be changing it soon, but not by much. I like her with hot pink lips and black eyeliner, but my skills have improved in the last year and a half so I'd like to update her.

See, Nat?? I COULD MAKE YOURS LOOK AWESOME TOO XD Hahahaha. You know, when I first got my Aika (December 2004. Dang!) I wasn't sure I'd ever be able to like her. I tried to sand off her weird molded eyelashes (really, Volks, come ON.) but I got a little overzealous and took off her tear ducts and eyelids in the process *___* In a tearful panic, I sent her to Natalie to be fixed. She did a great job smoothing out her face and evening my bad sanding job, but for some reason, I still could NOT get over the fact that she didn't have tear ducts and eyelids. (Chase, my Raphael, never had either of those things and it never bothered me, but for some reason that never occurred to me until like... yesterday.) Her eye wells were also WAY too big for the 16mm eyes she was supposed to wear.

As the years went on and my faceup skills improved, I felt brave enough to repaint Aika myself. I knew she couldn't wear 16mm eyes without looking weird, so I sanded the inside of her head so that 18mm eyes would fit. Now she looks SO much better and I wouldn't have her any other way! (Although I would still like some proper eyelids...)

The mail should be here by now. I wonder if I'll get my Angel Lily today? I hope it won't take 2 weeks for her to get here like the last time I bought stuff from Hong Kong.

That last time was just a practice.

I had another go at Sabrina and Chase's faceups the other day and they turned out much better :D I decided to give Bri some shimmery, citrusy lime eyeshadow instead of the caramel color. She's had that color for the last year and it's Hard Candy brand $14 eyeshadow that I never wear... XD Anyways, now she's got some L'Oreal H.I.P.

Chase still has huge eyebrows, but these are higher and more curved, so they make her look younger than the last ones. Her lips are a little darker, too.

Here is Sabrina's new faceup. It basically turned out to be a slightly paler version of her old one. I'm not sure I like it. Actually, I don't even really know why I did this. I liked her old faceup a lot. I'll probably try again tonight. I'm so rusty =____=;;

Chase turned out better. Her old faceup was too dark for a 9-year-old kid. I think I liked her old eyebrows, better though =/ but overall, I like the softer colors of this faceup.

It's so hard to photograph him!! Uuuugh. I think it's because he's pureskin... he always looks so washed out. Oh well. My Shiro is really attractive, in any case.

I got an Angel Lily!!

I got her from E Street Bazaar (which I stumbled across on Google. How lucky!) and she was ten dollars. For real. The seller is a total sweetheart- she sent me an email yesterday with pictures of Lily, pictures of her box in bubblewrap, and pictures of the envelope addressed to my house XD

So she was shipped yesterday and should arrive within 5-8 days. How exciting! My Wedding Peach collection is complete! :3 I'm not sure if Lily is a Mimi World bootleg like my Angel Daisy. Her body will be the giveaway- if she's hollow, she's a Tomy. If she's rubber, she's Mimi World. Actually, I hope she's a Mimi World. Those hollow bodies can't pose for CRAP.

I stayed up until 2AM working on BJD stuff for the first time in like... 6 months. I did 2 faceups and restrung my SD boy body. It's been dissembled and sitting in a bowl since December :( I put my Shiro head on it and he looks pretty cool. I'll take pictures later.

Woo, lookit what I finished!

Last night I stayed up late working on Tomoyo/Madison and Sanmi, and now they're doooooone :3 I worried that I cut Tomoyo's hair too short, but it's actually waist-length, which is where it's supposed to be. I don't know how to go about making it wavy, though... Natalie? Erica? Any suggestions? She just needs some soft waves at the bottom of her hair. She also needs a pink headband, which is easy. There's bound to be a pink ribbon lying around here somewhere.

But I LOVE HER! :D Yaaay. I think I'm going to call her Madison instead of Tomoyo. I never watched the Japanese CCS anyway, so I have always known this character as Madison. Plus, I've just always loved that name.

Sanmi was purchased in 2003 as an Azone custom doll kit- she had a body and a head with a blank face rooted with long, brown hair. I gave her a crap faceup many years ago and gave her this weird haircut since it was similar-ish to mine at the time. But now I have cool hair and painting skills so I thought my little clone deserved the same.

Aaaand finally, when I was cleaning my room last weekend, I unearthed a TON of SD supplies- sandpaper, Mr. Color paints, brushes, TWO FULL CANS OF Mr. Super Clear UV Cut (!!!) and EYELASHES.

I had wanted some eyelashes that were meant for SDs since I use the human lashes on my big girls and they are waaay too long for my little ones. When I touched up Cassia's faceup over Christmas, I had to take her old ones out and throw them away since they're all crappy now. But these Volks lashes are PERFECT for her and they look suuuuper sweet on her.

That top she's wearing was another thing I found cleaning my room. It's meant for Beanie Babies. XD

Holy crap, look at all the stuff I got yesterdaaaay!!!

I got one set of furniture for my Card Captors, my rooting hair, winter uniform Sakura, and a Super Sailor Venus costume for my Bandai doll. Good times!

I stayed up until 2AM using the hair to finish rooting Sanmi. This morning, I boiled her hair straight and cut it and it's super cute :3 I need to touch up her face a little before I take any pictures, though. I should have boiled my new Sakura's hair while I was doing Sanmi's, cuz it's all jacked up from being in the box. Oh well.

Sakura's outfit was immediately given to Tomoyo. I will start rooting her tonight!

Also, I checked eBay last night and was shocked to see the little Wedding Angel outfit for Angel Daisy on eBay for only $10. Even though I should NOT keep spending money like this, I bought it anyway. XD

I realized that I had taken pictures of my mini Sailor Mars' hair before I re-rooted it. Now can you see what I mean? It used to be straight and silky, then the color turned greenish and it got very wavy and coarse. Then it just fell out.

I got my Obitsu bodies!!

They came like, 2 weeks ago and I never got around to posting about it. Oops. Now Georgia and Johannah are finished! I never posted pictures of Georgia's hair after it got curled, so here you go:

And can I just say how much I LOVE these new little Obitsu bodies?? They have 25cm and 23cm. I got a 23cm small bust for Johannah and it is THE COOLEST THING EVER

Her entire torso is soft, and so are her hands. She came with 3 pairs of extra hands, too :3 The body is so pretty, with minimal jointing around the torso (I hate waist joints. They're a pet peeve of mine.) I like that she doesn't have the joint right at her hips like my other Obitsu body- her torso doesn't just pop off.

Here is a close-up of her hands. She's wearing one of her fists, just 'cuz I think its cute. I'm very happy I bought this body for her. She's waited since 2003 to have a body at all, and I think this one was the perfect choice.

Last but not least, I finally repainted Miyuki. Here's the before and after. I'm happy with how she turned out- this paint job is MUCH smoother than her last one. I love her so much. She was my first Dollfie! She's an Obitsu prerooted head on a Volks Beauty slim body, which has always been one of my favorite bodies ever. Actually, it's my only Volks 27cm body. I used to have an Excellent B, but I gave it to my friend because I hated it. My other Volks bodies are Dylan's N and and Reika's Mini A.

This is what I'm working on now. In addition to all the Card Captor stuff I've been working on, I'm giving my little mini me a makeover. This was her hideous before faceup done in 2006. She got repainted last week and looks SUPER cute now, but she's bald. XD I sheared her head and I'm working on giving her new hair since I no longer have this weirdly-layered hair...

I used up the rest of the Hazelnut hair that I used for Sailor Mars for the bottom of her hair, but I ran out. I bought a pack of My Sammy from RestoreDoll because it's a nice multitoned dark color and it has my name in it! Hahaha. She'll get a few Champagne Blonde highlights on top, too.

I also bought a pack of black hair to reroot my Sakura into a Tomoyo. I finished her repaint and she looks GOOD. :3

Ode to my Irwin dolls

The profile page for my Irwin dolls is finished! I still need pictures of my older Rini, Tuxedo Mask, and Sailor Mars. While I was taking profile pictures of each one yesterday, I also took some other fun pictures.

Sailor Neptune and Uranus are happy to be together, haha. They are just such lovely dolls. I'm very happy that I finally found Uranus. ♥

Here's my beloved Irwin Sailor Saturn. SHE'S SO COOL :D Her hair is black with purple streaks in it! And she has ruffly sleeves!! The pics I took of her outfit turned out too blurry, but I will post more pictures of her for sure, since she's one of my most cherished.

This is the newer Sailor Mini Moon I bought on eBay last month. She was only $5, and when she arrived, I could see why. Her hair was all jacked up, she was dirty, she was missing her gloves and tiara, her dress was torn and frayed, and she had a small tear in her knee. She needed some TLC, so I'm glad I picked her up. I washed her off as best I could, but there's still some mysterious red stain on her thigh. I can easily fix her bow by putting a single stitch in the middle, but I have NO idea how to go about fixing her skirt. =/

Here she is now! :D She looks a MILLION times better. I stole her tiara from my Italian Queen Serenity since she's not supposed to have one anyway. XD I'm keeping my eye out on SeraSell for outfits/accessories of hers people might be selling.

Here's new Irwin Rini with older '90s Irwin Rini. The "ugly face" Sailor Moon dolls actually have nice clothes and face paint, it's just their head molds that make them ugly. They have NO noses and flat lips. Their bodies aren't very poseable and their heads are set on their necks so it looks like they are always looking down. My doll needs her pigtails re-curled, but other than that, I think she's cute and I like her :)

This is my Sailor Moon dressing table. And it is AWESOME! :D The lights around the mirror really work, and it came with millions of little beauty necessities like makeup and hairbrushes. The drawers really work, too. I stuffed them full of wands XD

Last but not least, this is my 6" Serena's Bedroom playset. You can't really do much with it, but it's still really cute. The little bedspread has tiny moons and bunnies on it :)

Yesterday, I realized that I don't need to buy another Meilin to make myself a Tomoyo doll. I can just convert one of my Sakura heads! This head in particular has Tomoyo's straight eyebrows and somewhat half-lidded eyes, whereas Meilin's eyebrows are arched and would need to be erased completely. It will be super easy to paint over Sakura's eyebrows and irises without really having to change anything.

All I need to do is reroot her with black hair and find a little pink ribbon to make her a headband with. I bought 2 different colors of hair from RestoreDoll yesterday- My Sammy for Sanmi (dollfie of myself XD) and Noir for Tomoyo. They didn't have anything that was a "lighter" black like Tomoyo's hair in the cartoon, but I figured jet black would suffice.

Ideally, I'd like to buy one of the Sakura dolls wearing the winter school uniform and put that on my new Tomoyo. The new Sakura can wear one of my other Sakura's outfits, since I have millions of them.

Lucky me ended up winning both sets of Barbie furniture on eBay, so all I need now for my Card Captors is a table :3

I couldn't sleep last night, so I hopped on eBay to search for some Barbie furniture to give my Card Captors. I bid on:

The first is a cute Barbie living room set. That's exactly what they needed- just a cute little sitting area. Plus, I really dig the blue couches and the green lamp. The second set I bid on is a repainted set of Barbie furniture that is very cool and retro.

My Sakuras will have a very groovy room, for sure :3

Last week, I had bid on two SuperS costumes for my Japanese Sailor Mars and Venus dolls. I already have the costumes for Jupiter, Mercury, and Moon, so I was super excited to find these on eBay for a low price. I got outbid on both, but last night, I got a second chance offer from the seller for the Sailor Venus outfit. It was only $20, so I snatched it up. Sailor Venus will be lookin' flyyyyy! XD

Card Captor Project, Phase 1

So my collection of Card Captor Sakura dolls is in need of a LOT of attention. This is my task list for them:

-Reroot 4 Sakura heads (so far have 2/4)
-Reroot Li head
-~~Restyle the hair of my other Sakura dolls~~
-~~Straighten Meilin's hair~~ and give her new ribbons
-Buy a table to keep them on
-Buy some doll furniture for them
-Reroot a Sakura head with black hair
-Repaint new black-haired Sakura as Tomoyo
-Find Tomoyo a school uniform
-Straighten new Sakura's hair

I have 8 Sakura dolls. 4 of them are by Bandai, and oddly enough, it was the Bandai dolls whose hair turned all crappy suddenly and fell out. So half of my Sakuras needed to be rerooted. My Li is also by Bandai (not Trendmasters) so he's next in line for new hair.

Yaaay! I'm really happy with how she turned out. I have 2 of these open-mouthed, bright-eyed Sakuras and they have my favorite faces, so I'm really glad she will have beautiful hair again. Below you can see the before and after photos:

All of my Dollfies are nearly finished! I even dusted off and reorganized their "living space." (The shelves where they sit and chill.) I tried to take pictures of it the other day but the weather sucked and there wasn't any natural light to work with coming into my room. Laaame.

Profile pages are starting to come together. I hate that I can't backdate them so they don't clutter up my main page, but they'll move down eventually as I post more. (Haha!) My Doremi page is completely done, but that's it so far. XD I need to take nice profile pictures of aaaalllllll my other dolls. =___=;;

I need to buy more Saran hair. I have to get more Hazelnut for my Sanmi dollfie and probably more Saucy Brown for my Card Captors. I finally finished rerooting one of my bald Sakura heads and she took nearly 2 and a half packs of hair. I should have cut the skein in half first, since her hair only has to be about chin-length, anyway. I ended up cutting off a lot of her long hair and then rooting the rest back into her head, but it's all different lengths and it's really hard to work with. I'll boil her straight once I get home from my aunt's house today and then give her a proper cut 'n' style!

My little Meilin doll needs her pigtails straightened, too. I'm thinking of buying another one and painting her eyes blue and make her into Tomoyo, since I never got the Bandai Tomoyo doll. I do need to find her little school uniform, though.

Hmm. My poor Card Captors need a table of their own. In my anime doll room, I have an entire kitchen table filled with all of my 11"/11.5" Sailor Moon and Wedding Peach dolls. I have a smaller craft table for all of my Dream Pockets and Doremi dolls, and my Card Captors are all tossed into a shoebox. They need some furniture of their own and I need to find a whole mess of doll stands!

Mimi World vs. Tomy

Wedding Peach and Angel Daisy! My poor Peach doll has been all alone for seven years, but now I finally have one of her friends. XD Aren't they cute?

Here you can see the differences in their face molds. Peach's is more elongated, Daisy's is rounder.

Here are their boxes. Daisy is a knockoff, so even though her box is plastered with TOMY, there's a big blank spot where her stand instructions should be, cuz she didn't come with a stand.

They have different garter belts. And different skirt materials. Also, you can see Daisy's tag on her dress, which is a dead giveaway.

Hmm... dare I say that the bootleg Peach dolls are better than the real deal?

Georgia got her hair curled Monday night! I've never really curled Dollfie hair before. (I crimped Claire's hair by braiding it and boiling it, but that doesn't count.) I used Natalie's tutorial this time, although I didn't have all the right equipment. XD

Her hair turned out super cute! Her new body came in today, but I haven't had time to take pictures yet since I have to go to work in a bit. I also haven't repainted Miyuki, either...

I wanted to post about my new Ojamajo Doremi doll, Momoko! :D

I've been after this doll for *YEARS.* Momoko is one of the rarest of these dolls, aside from Poppu (who I don't have, either!) and I finally found one on eBay a few weeks back. She's from the Patisserie line, so she came with a little headset, frilly dress, and a tea set :3

The long pieces on the sides of her bangs really need to be straightened, but I don't know how to boil it without messing up the rest of her intricate hairstyle:

Dollfie Madness!!!

I've spend the last 2 days working on my Dollfies like crazy. They've all been neglected for yeeeears and I had faceups to finish, faceups to start, faceups to fix, and photos to take today.

First, meet Tris. She's probably been waiting to be finished since 2004 =__=;; Her hair is thermal magic-- it's awesome and turns yellow when exposed to heat. (Boiling her hair straight was a blast!) I used 2 packs of orange hair and STILL had room on her head, so I ended up having to throw in some random blonde hair to cover the baldness. Damn Obitsu heads with their hugeness.

Her body is a standard Obitsu body, one of the first they ever had. She's got the normal sized hard bust. Many years ago, though, the peg on her wrist broke off and was stuck inside her arm. I tried superglue, but it didn't fix it, so I decided to just work it into her character using some hot glue and leftover gauze from when I had my wisdom teeth out. So Tris just has a broken wrist. XD

Her face is really lovely. It's the third one I've tried on her. The first was this one with those weird pink eyes. The second faceup had purple eyes, but it was so awful and embarrassing that I didn't even bother taking pictures of it.

I also repainted Georgia (left) and finished my blonde Obitsu head. I've decided to name her Clark. Georgia's old face was sloppy and it bothered me, so she got fixed up last night right along with Clark. Georgia has an Obitsu body on the way, but I don't have one for Clark yet. I feel kind of bad for her, being bodiless and all. Dollfie bodies have gotten SO much more expensive lately- I remember when Volks bodies cost around $15 and Obitsu bodies were $13. Good times.. *sigh* Oh well. I'll get her one eventually, but I don't think I'll buy any more after that.

Miyuki will be my last repaint and then I'm DONNNE spending 4 hours squinting at those tiny heads XD I got the best new paintbrush EVER at Wal-Mart yesterday so I used it touching up and repainting ALL of my Dollfies, but Miyuki's getting a full makeover tonight after I get home from work.

That faceup is so horrible. XD Oh my god. She used to have eye decals (which I have millions of in a drawer somewhere) but I now I prefer to paint her myself. Tonight, she'll get some pretty grey eyes.

Saturday is Crazy Awesome Mail Day

Angel Daisy arrived on Friday, but the stupid mail lady just left a pink slip in the mailbox so I couldn't pick her up until yesterday morning. My mom was home all day, so she could have signed for the package. Grr.

As it turns out, my Angel Daisy is not made by Tomy - she's a bootleg by a Korean company called Mimi World. (Bobagirl has some in-depth comparisons between the Tomy and Mimi Wedding Peach dolls here.) At first, I was a little dismayed when I realized she was a bootleg (I saw the "Mimi World" tag inside her dress) but actually, I really like her.

Unlike my Tomy Peach doll, Angel Daisy's body is solid rubber, not hollow plastic. She has a twisty waist and a really cute face mold. Not that my Peach doll isn't cute, but Daisy's face is rounder and more cherubic, I guess. XD Daisy didn't come with a stand or gloves. Her skirt is made from white satin as opposed to the layers of white tulle that the Tomy Daisy has.

The weirdest part? Check out her hair:

Yeah. I realize it's sticking up everywhere from her packaging, but it's so long! Her hair is layered a bit shorter towards the front, like actual Angel Daisy, but it's waaay longer than the Tomy Daisy's. Since I've never seen other Mimi World dolls, I'm not sure if it's something that they all have or just mine, specifically.

Instead of cutting it short, I decided to boil her hair straight and just leave it long. It's really gorgeous and I think it makes her unique :3 Her new hair is pictured above with Sailor Uranus, who arrived not long after I'd finished fixing up Daisy's hair and working on one of my Dollfie. Now all I need to finish my collection of Wedding Peach dolls is Angel Lily, and oddly enough, yesterday I got an email from somebody who has one for sale.

Hahaha. I love Daisy's rubber body- she can do cool poses like that!

Now my Irwin Sailor Moon collection is very nearly complete! All I'm missing is Wicked Lady. But anyway, Sailor Uranus is SO CUTE. OMFG. She and my Sailor Neptune are going to be adooooorable together XD

Her hair was all weird and poofy and tangled, just like my Irwin Mercury's. Mercury got her hair boiled straight a while back, but I haven't taken pictures yet. Uranus got her hair did not minutes after arriving home. Here's the before and after:

Tomorrow is my last day of my Freshman year of college. I have my last final tomorrow at 11, so naturally, I'm screwing around on Blogger instead of working on my review guide. XD

To reward myself for my good grades, I bought some stuff for my BJDs last night. I haven't picked them up for months, probably not since Christmas... yeesh. Mikey's body is still in pieces (oh my!!) from his bath/seam removal over break. I really need to put him back together.

While I was changing all of their clothes, I realized that my boys need more clothes, and my girls need updated clothes because I haven't really bought them anything since 2005 and everything is tacky and dated. Plus, I wanted more eyes since I'm a huge eyeball slut.

So here's what I bought:

The purple eyes are for Cassia. I've always wanted her to have some straight-up purple eyes. Her default eyes are purple, but they're sooo light. The grey ones are 18mm, so any of my 60cm BJDs can wear them. I'm not sure who I'll give them to yet.

And I bought this rad shirt for the boys. The same seller has lots of clothes in that style for decent prices, so I'll definitely be buying from her again.

I'm super excited for summer because I have a massive doll to-do list:

-New faceup for Ambrose
-New faceup for Brigitte
-New faceup for Sabrina
-Paint dollfie heads
-Find some Dollfie boy clothes for Dylan (my only boy dollfie)
-Rereoot all 5 of my Card Captor dolls :(
-~~Reroot Sanmi, the dollfie I made to look like me. She needs black and blonde hair like mine :D~~
-New faceup for Erica, my Unoss. I love her face as it is, but she needs better-looking eyebrows.
-Disassamble my Unoss' body, wash it, blush it, and restring it.
-Finish Lily's faceup (2006 Juri head)
-Reroot my 6" Sailor Jupiter doll
-Curl the hair of various Sailor Moon dolls
-Take tons and tons of pictures. The goal is to have one photo of EVERYBODY.

Yay, I won Sailor Uranus!

She's the only one missing from my Irwin dolls... well, the only Sailor Scout. I don't have Wicked Lady. Now my Sailor Neptune can have a girlfriend! :3

Hong Kong's post office is the crappiest thing EVERRR. Ugh. It's been nearly 2 weeks since my Angel Daisy was shipped and the stupid tracking number never updates. I'm a bit worried, but the seller did say it usually takes 14 days... this friday will make 14.

Annoying Border

AAAAGGGHHH that stupid border around the header is driving me INSANE. No matter how I resize my header image to fit it, it always goes three pixel higher and makes that weird gap above the image.

Pffft.

Finals week begins tomorrow and then I'll be DONE with my first year of college. I've got sooo much doll stuff I want to do... My little Unoa is getting a new faceup for sure. I like her face now, but I want something with colors that will match the lighter eyes she got for Christmas.

I also need to put her chest piece back on. Sabrina is wearing Brita's, my dozing Lusis, bigger chest.

Going through my flickr just now to post that picture made me notice that I don't have a SINGLE picture of my SD boys on my photostream! That's messed up. I'll have to fix that ASAP.

Hairsssss

The first on my very long list of tasks is to finish rooting my Dollfie skin heads and rerooting a bunch of my anime dolls. My little Dream Pocket Sailor Mars was going bald, so she got re-rooted first. I'm really happy with how it turned out!

She has RestoreDoll hair in Hazelnut. It's sooo pretty. Very dark brown, but not quite black. The holes in her head were HUGE though, so I had to use a pack and a half of hair =/ not enough left for me to reroot a dollfie with.

Dream Pocket Sailor Jupiter's hair is falling out, too. I will re-root her for sure, but I don't know how to go about curling her bangs and ponytail just yet.

These Dollfie heads have been waiting yeeeeeeeears for hair. XD I finished them all last week (!!!) and now I'm just waiting for school to be done so I can finish with faceups.

The orange-haired girl's faceup SUCKS. I don't know what I want to name the two Obitsu heads yet... the brunette in the second picture is Georgia. Her hair is from RestoreDoll and she's got Ginger Snap, Champagne Blonde, and Saucy Brown. She's a Volks SH11, I think.

I finally bought Obitsu bodies for her and my mini head, too. The mini's name will be Johannah :3
